Dear Colleagues,
It gives us immense pleasure to extend warm greetings to all delegates attending the 51st Annual Conference of the Indian Psychiatric Society - North Zone (ACIPS-NZ 2026), being hosted at Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences, Jalandhar.
The theme of this year's conference, "Emergency Psychiatry", is both timely and relevant. Mental health professionals today encounter an expanding range of psychiatric emergencies that demand rapid assessment, sound clinical judgment, multidisciplinary collaboration, and compassionate intervention.
Psychiatric emergencies often represent moments of profound vulnerability for individuals and families. Whether addressing suicidal crises, acute psychosis, substance-related emergencies, disaster-related psychological trauma, or behavioural disturbances, our collective responsibility extends beyond symptom management to preserving dignity, hope, and recovery.
This conference provides an excellent platform for sharing knowledge, strengthening professional networks, and exploring advances in clinical practice, research, education, and policy. On behalf of the Organizing Committee, the Doaba Psychiatric Forum, and the Department of Psychiatry, Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences, we extend a warm invitation to all delegates, faculty members, researchers, trainees, and mental health professionals to participate in this prestigious academic gathering.
